A strong and hardy native shrub with compact, neat and glossy green foliage. White flowers in spring followed by clusters of dark red edible bird attracting berries in late spring /summer.
Category / uses: great for hedges / screening, topiary.
Position / planting / care: grow in warm, sunny to partly shaded position in moist, well drained soil. Cultivate soil before planting. Dig hole twice the width of the container. Remove plant from container and place into the hole so the soil level is the same size as the surrounding ground. Fill hole firmly and water in well even if the soil is moist. Water after planting until established. Clip regularly if hedge or shaping is required. Mulch well and regular application of native slow releases fertiliser.
