Firewheel Tree – Stenocarpus sinuatus

One of Australia’s most spectacular rainforest trees; handsome when not in flower and striking when in full bloom. Spectacular bright red, whorled flowers which cover the canopy in summer. The glossy green leaves are tinged with maroon in new growth.
Category / Uses: too large for smaller gardens but well suited to acreage planting, landscapes and parks.
Position/ planting / care: Loves full sun and tolerates a wide range of soils and conditions including dry periods once established. For maximum growth, keep well watered and mulched during dry weather and fertilise with slow release fertiliser in spring. Protect from
wind and frost when young.
